Andromeda polifolia - Bog rosemary

continental : Place these plants in a sunny place, where they can be exposed for at least few hours a day to direct sunlight.
There are not big problems to grow these plants, since they can easily tolerate also very intense frosts.

alpine : We remind to place these plants always in a very bright location, exposed to direct sunlight.
They are rustic plants that tolerate frost very well; therefore they can be grown outside all year long.

mediterranean : Try to place the Andromeda polifolia in a location well exposed to sunlight all year long.
This plant is very rustic and tolerate winter climate without any problem.

Fertilize Andromeda polifolia : Fertilizings are given during the vegetative period, from March to October; it can be used a slow-release fertilizer, to be placed on the soil in two different times, once at the end of winter and once at the end of summer. It can be also used a fertilizer to be dissolved in normal waterings every 15-20 days. Avoid fertilizings in autumn and winter.

continental : These plants shall be watered regularly from March to October, avoiding excessive waterings and remember to allow the soil to dry out well between two waterings. During cold months we can avoid watering.

alpine : Water the Andromeda polifolia regularly, specially in summer, always allowing the soil to dry out completely between two waterings.

mediterranean : It is advisable to water these plants regularly, using a good amount of water and watering deeply the soil; allow the soil to dry out between two waterings.

Pests Andromeda polifolia : For a luxuriant growth it is advisable to grow the acidophil plants in a low ph level soil; a too much basic soil causes the emerging of ferric chlorosis, with an evident yellowing of the foliage; in this case we suggest to use greening fertilizers containing iron. During the first week of spring apply at least one pesticide treatment, against the aphids; we suggest also a copper and sulphur anti-fungal treatment
