continental : We suggest to place The Dianthus pavonius where it is exposed to direct sunlight.
We can place this plants outside; also in winter they can tolerate very rigid temperatures without any problem.

alpine : Place The Dianthus pavonius in a location exposed to direct sunlight.
These plants can tolerate also very intense frosts without any problem.

mediterranean : These plants need to be exposed to direct sunlight; in summer they can be exposed to a slight shadow without any problem.
Place The Dianthus pavonius in the garden all year long; they do not suffer from cold.

Feed Dianthus pavonius : From March to October fertilize using a fertilizer to be added to normal waterings, every 15-20 days; for your convenience it is also possible to use a slow-release granular fertilizer, to be placed around the plant every 3-4 months.

continental : Give very regular waterings; all year long the soil shall be kept humid, however avoiding dangerous stagnations. Increase waterings in summer and decrease them when autumn starts.

alpine : We suggest frequent and generous waterings, so that the soil remains mostly humid all year long. It is possible to decrease waterings in winter.

mediterranean : It is advisable to give regular waterings, specially during spring and summer; before giving again water make sure the soil is dry.

Adversity Dianthus pavonius : Acidophil plants suffer particularly from ferric chlorosis, that becomes evident from the yellowing of the leaves; to avoid it to appear maintain the soil ph level low, using specific fertilizers and a specific topsoil and avoiding excessively calcareous water; in case of need give ferric chelate. We suggest to apply a Bordeaux mixture treatment and an anti-aphids treatment in spring.
