continental : Place these plants in a sunny place, where they can be exposed for at least few hours a day to direct sunlight.

mediterranean : Try to place the Eichhornia crassipes in a location well exposed to sunlight all year long.
These plants do not tolerate temperatures below 10-12°C, therefore grow them in the house most part of the year.

Fertilize Eichhornia crassipes : It is advisable to use specific fertilizings, during spring and summer; use specific fertilizers to be dissolved in the water of the water garden in which plants are placed. It is also possible to mix a slow-release granular fertilizer with the soil in which the plants sink their roots.

continental : It is advisable regular, frequent and generous waterings. The Eichhornia crassipes prefers fresh and humid soils. In any case avoid excessive watering and decrease waterings during the cold season.

alpine : These plants like dry and well drawn soil; water regularly during spring and summer, decrease waterings in autumn. In winter we can avoid watering, leaving the soil dry.

mediterranean : Grow the Eichhornia crassipes in a mostly dry soil, giving not so frequent waterings; but avoid to keep the soil dry for too long periods, intervening every 3-4 days and watering deeply the soil. Waterings can be suspended during the coldest periods of the year.
