Miscanthus sinensis - Chinese silvergrass

continental : We suggest to place The Miscanthus sinensis where it is exposed to direct sunlight.
It is advisable to cover the plant in winter with frost cloth, specially in case of intense frosts.

alpine : Place The Miscanthus sinensis in a location exposed to direct sunlight.
These plants do not tolerate long and intense frosts; for this reason we suggest to cover them with frost cloth during cold months.

mediterranean : These plants need to be exposed to direct sunlight; in summer they can be exposed to a slight shadow without any problem.
We suggest to grow these plants in the garden all year long, since they tolerate temperatures also close to -5°C without any problem.

Feed Miscanthus sinensis : Fertilize water plants by using a slow-release fertilizer to be buried at their base, or we can use specific fertilizers for water plants, to be dissolved in the little lake or in the little pond in which the plants are grown. Usually these fertilizings are released regularly, during spring and summer.

continental : Give very regular waterings; all year long the soil shall be kept humid, however avoiding dangerous stagnations. Increase waterings in summer and decrease them when autumn starts.

alpine : We suggest frequent and generous waterings, so that the soil remains mostly humid all year long. It is possible to decrease waterings in winter.

mediterranean : It is advisable to give regular waterings, specially during spring and summer; before giving again water make sure the soil is dry.

Adversity Miscanthus sinensis : At the end of winter, when the buds are still closed, we can apply a copper and sulphur treatment, to avoid fungal diseases to emerge; during the year apply specific treatments only in case there is the presence of a parasite on the plant.
