Watering Onoclea sensibilis

continental : These plants prefer dry soils, therefore avoid to water them too often; it can be necessary to intervene more often during summer, in very hot and dry periods.

alpine : We suggest occasional waterings; intervene occasionally from April to September, when the soil is completely dry. During the rest of the year avoid watering, or slightly dampen the soil only when it has been very dry for few days, in case the plant is starting to fade.

mediterranean : Waterings will be rather poor and less frequent, remember to increase waterings during the hottest periods of the year. The soil can remain dry also for few days before the plant needs new waterings.

Treatments Onoclea sensibilis : When spring starts we can apply a sulphur fungicide treatment; the other treatments will be applied only in case the parasites are on the plants. Avoid the use of any treatments on the plants during bloom, which can injure the bees.
