continental : Avoid too much sunny locations, preferring semishady places.

alpine : For a balanced growth and in order to avoid leaves sunburns place this plant in a semishady location.
They are rustic plants that tolerate frost very well; therefore they can be grown outside all year long.

mediterranean : It is suggested to place the Onoclea sensibilis in a semishady location, away from direct sunlight for most part of the day.
This plant is very rustic and tolerate winter climate without any problem.

Fertilize Onoclea sensibilis : It is advisable to use a ripe organic fertilizer, to be buried at the base of the plant at the end of winter and at the end of summer; alternatively we can use a slow-release granular fertilizer.
