Exposure Sambucus nigra Aureacontinental : They prefer locations where they can receive direct sunlight for at least few hours. alpine : It is advisable to place these plants in a very bright location, exposed to direct sunlight. mediterranean : Place these plants in a very bright location, possibly exposed to direct sunlight. Fertilization Sambucus nigra Aurea : Provide the first fertilizing at the end of winter, mixing a slow-release organic fertilizer with the soil; later on we can use a universal fertilizer, to be dissolved in normal waterings, every 15-20 days. Watering Sambucus nigra Aureacontinental : Remember to water The Sambucus nigra Aurea only when the soil is dry. During waterings try to dampen deeply the substrate, avoiding to drench it excessively. alpine : The Sambucus nigra Aurea prefer fresh but not soaked soils, therefore water only when the soil has been dry for few days; providing more frequent waterings in summer and avoid to give water in winter or during the coldest periods of the year. mediterranean : The Sambucus nigra Aurea needs very regular and generous waterings; give a good amount of water every week from March to October, but remember to allow the soil to dry out between two waterings. During very cold months or particularly rainy periods we can avoid watering.
